PRAYER REQUESTSWe pray for all in need of God’s healing especially Mr. Walter Gaither, former faculty member and  Dennis Smith, father of faculty member Mr. Dave Smith. We pray for all the deceased members of the Father Judge Family especially Mrs. Dolores DeLaurentis, wife of former volunteer Mr. “D” and mother of several alumni members, Francis Jakeman, grandmother of Anthony Jakeman D-4 and   Dolores Venneri, grandmother of Philip DiRomaldo A-2.




Today: Friday (1/17) we are on a Schedule #3 for a Freshmen Assembly after 8th period.

 Next Week is “Salesian Week”: Monday (1/20) is Martin Luther Day – It is a School Holiday. Tuesday (1/21) is a Schedule #3 for a Freshman/Sophomore Assembly after 8th period. Wednesday (1/22), Thursday (1/23) and Friday (1/24) we are on a Regular Schedule #l.




SENIORS:  If you still want to purchase a PANORAMIC PICTURE, we will take the order form envelopes until next Tuesday, January 21st.  Please turn them into Mrs. Bertoline in Room 134.


Students who would like to help with the WINTER OPEN HOUSE will need to go to the Admissions Department/Welcome Center, Room 100, to sign up; meetings regarding the event are required. The Open House is on Thursday, January 30, 2020.


VALENTINE DAY DANCE: We will be holding our first Valentine Day Dance on Friday, February 14, 2020. The dance will be held from 7:00 to 10:30 PM.  Permission forms are available in the cafeteria and in the Student Affairs Office (room 134). Completed forms along with payment should be turned in to Mrs. Gibson in the tuition office. The deadline deadline for the dance is Friday, February 7th, 2020.


CHRISTIAN SERVICE HOURS: Any freshman or sophomore interested in a service opportunity this Monday, January 20, at Picariello playground near Christ the King, please see Mr. Smith ASAP. 


FATHER JUDGE WINTER COAT DRIVE:  Student Council will be collecting winter coats for the entire month of January. Donate new or used winter coats to help those in need. Please drop off any donations to Mr. Dougherty's office in Room 108. All donations will be given to Catholic Social Services. Thank you in advance for your help!


INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL sign-ups willend today, January 17th. Forms can be filled out during all lunch periods and need to be turned in to Mr. Dougherty in room 108. Teams need to have at least 7 players. All games will be played Tuesdays and Thursdays after 8th period in the MAC. Any questions see Mr. Dougherty in room 108. 


JOB OPPORTUNITY:  The Plumbers, Steamfitters, Boilermaker’s and Carpenters Unions are all accepting applications. Links are posted outside Room l34 and on the bulletin boards.  Please see Mr. Mullen (located in the Brisson center) for more information.










Seniors are reminded that a $5000 Maguire Scholarship ($1.000 for CCP and Montgomery County Comm College) is available for students interested in specific schools including Boston College,Cabrini, CCP, Chestnut Hill, Drexel, Fordham, Georgetown,Gwynedd Mercy, Immaculata, LaSalle, Montgomery County, Neumann, Penn State University Park, Philadelphia University/Jefferson University, Rosemont, St. Joe’s, Temple, Penn, Scranton, Villanova,  Widener, and Williamson Trade. Application deadlines vary by college--some are February 1st and some are March 1st-- but your FAFSA must be done by 2/15/20!  Applications are to be done on-line on the websites of the colleges that interest you.  The Guidance Office can help you send the letter of recommendation.  A number of Judge students win this every year!  


Drexel University is again offering a Full Tuition Liberty Scholarship and the deadline is February 1st!  LaSalle University is again offering the McGowan Scholarship worth $5,000 per year and specifically for Judge students--only an essay is required to apply and the deadline is January 31st!  See Naviance or Guidance for details. Judge students win both every year!


Seniors are reminded to sign up for a Practice Interview if they are going to be interviewing for acceptances, scholarships, or job opportunities!  You should sign up in Guidance at least ONE WEEK before your interview date! You will get great feedback on how to make your interview a success!  


The Leadership and Character Development Academy of the United States Marine Corps is offering a summer program for qualifying Sophomores & Juniors  (www.slcda.marines.com)  See Guidance or the website for additional information and criteria--the deadline to apply is January 31st!  This is a great opportunity to learn, network, and step out of your comfort zone so take advantage!


The FOP is offering seven scholarships ($1,000-$2,500) for two and four year colleges to Seniors who are the children or grandchildren of active & retired police officers. Applications are in Guidance or can be found on www.fop5.org.  Deadline is February 1st!


Seniors interested in working in the trades are reminded that a number of Apprenticeship Unions are accepting applications now!  See www.apprentice.org for additional information.  Some examples: The Plumbers Union is accepting apps NOW (Jan 13th-17th) from 8:00am-4:00 pm, the Carpenters on certain days until Feb. 1st, the Steamfitters until April 23rd, and the Boilermakers on the last Wednesday of each month.

JUDGE/RYAN BASKETBALL GAME - January 24, 2020:  Starting this Monday, January 20, we will be selling tickets in the main office during school hours only. This game is presale only and tickets cannot be purchased at the door. All tickets cost $5 for both students and adults, student IDs won't get you into the game. Students can only purchase a maximum of 2 tickets. 


GOLF TEAM:  All members of the golf team and anyone that wants to try out for next year's golf team are asked to come to a brief meeting this Tuesday, January 21st, after 8th period in room 317.
