SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK:  

Today – (10/18) we are on a Regular Schedule #l.

Next Week: Monday (10/21) is a Schedule #6 for a special assembly for the entire student body.  Tuesday (10/22) we are on a Schedule #l. Wednesday (10/23) we are on a Schedule #3 for Department Meetings. Thursday (10/24) we are on a Schedule #l. Friday (10/25) we are on a Special Schedule for a Pep Rally after 8th period.

 

NEXT WEEK IS SPIRIT WEEK 2019:

 

  • Monday 10/21 is Philly Sports Day” – Show your Philly Pride by wearing a t-shirt from your favorite Philly Sports Team! Students must follow the guidelines for dress down day. NO shorts! Socks must be worn with slides or sandals and NO hoodies! Students must wear ID (lanyard).

 

  • Tuesday (10/22) is “Crusaders Conquer Cancer Day” – Each grade has been designated a color to match a charitable cause. Students in that grade can wear jeans, sweats or other appropriate pants (NO SHORTS-NO RIPPED SHIRTS-NO TANK TOPS or HALF SHIRTS, etc.) provided they wear a shirt in the color chosen for their class. Students dressing down may also wear sneaks, sandals or slides but must also wear socks. Students who dress down are asked to donate $2.00 for this worthwhile cause. Students who do not participate or who do not pay the $2.00 must be in their regular uniform or receive JUG. All Students must wear ID! The color scheme is as follows:

      SENIORS: Pink or Red (proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research)

      JUNIORS: Green or Light Blue (proceeds go to Prostate Cancer Research)

      SOPHOMORES: Blue or Purple (Proceeds go to Colon Cancer Research)

      FRESHMAN: White or Gray (Proceeds go to Lung Cancer Research)

 

  • Wednesday (10/23) is “Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day” – Today we show our appreciation to all the teachers, office personal and maintenance staff who make our school the best. All faculty and staff may dress down.
  • There will be a pie eating contest at all lunch periods and winners advance to the Wing Bowl.

 

  • Thursday (10/24) is a “Throwback Thursday” – students may travel back to yesteryear. Students and Faculty may wear a t-shirt or style from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s 80’s 90’s or 2000’s. Students may wear an old Father Judge T-shirt or uniform for this “Throwback Thursday”. The cost to dress down will be $1.00. The proceeds will go towards Mr. Cahill’s MS bike ride for next year. Students must follow the guidelines for dress down day. NO shorts! Socks must be worn with slides or sandals and NO hoodies! Students who do not participate must be in their regular uniform or receive JUG. All students must wear ID (lanyard).

 

  • Friday (10/25) is going to be our “Fall Pep Rally” – Students and Faculty may dress down for the day. Eighth (8th) period will end at 11:57 AM. After 8th period, all students will gather in the Fox Gym for competitive contests and games between each grade level. Dismissal will be at 1:00 PM.

           

STUDENTS DRIVING TO SCHOOL:  Your car should be registered in the discipline office. Please pick up a form at the lunch desk – fill it out and bring it to Room 134 to get your placard.

 

CRUSADER CLUB RETURNS can be made on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday in the cafeteria at all lunch periods.  All other times they can be turned into Mrs. Bertoline, Room 134.

 

SENIORS: Jostens Ring Company will be here next Tuesday, October 22, to take care of any ring issues and to measure you for your cap & gown!  SENIORS – PLEASE DO NOT BE ABSENT AND MISS THIS IMPORTANT DAY!

  • If your school ring does not fit properly or there are other problems (wrong spelling,        wrong icon, etc.) please bring your ring to school on the 22nd and meet with the representative from Jostens during your lunch period.
  • Measurements for your Graduation Cap & Gown will also be taken at your lunch period. SENIOR - PLEASE TRY NOT TO BE ABSENT.

 

FATHER JUDGE ANNUAL HAUNTED HOUSE will be held on Friday, October 25th, and Saturday, October 26th, from 6 to 9 pm. Please come out and support our students. Your presence will mean a lot to them since they are working so hard to make this the best haunted house ever.

Enter at your own risk….you will be scared!!!

 

The Father Judge Parents' Association (FJPA) is seeking donations of scratch off lottery tickets in any denomination. They will be used  for a fund raising Lottery Tree that will be available for chances this Sunday, Oct .20th, at the Craft Show, 9am -3pm .  All proceeds benefit Father Judge High School.  Tickets can be dropped off at the Main Office. Please mark the envelope FJPA. Thank you very much for supporting the FJPA.

 

NHS Peer Tutoring is available before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:15, after school on Mondays and Wednesdays, and each day during most lunch periods in the Brisson Center. 

 

MEETINGS:

The George Washington Carver team will have their next meeting next Tuesday, October 22nd, in room 313.  Please come prepared with your project ideas.

 

 

CHRISTIAN SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY:

Volunteers will be needed today, Friday, October 18th, after school and Sunday, October 20th for the Father Judge Craft Show. Students will be needed to help set-up Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. Interested students should see Mr. Dougherty. 

 

St. Albert the Great on Welsh Road needs high school volunteers for their Trunk or Treat event being held on Friday October 25th!  Assistance is needed any time between the hours of 3:30 pm-9:30 pm.  See Mrs. Purcell in Guidance if you are in need of service hours!

 

GUIDANCE:

The National College Fair is being held this SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20th, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the PA Convention Center (12th & Arch streets.)  Over 400 four and two year colleges, trade schools, nursing programs, military representatives, etc. will be there to answer questions and give out information.  Register at www.gotomyncf.com, and plan on visiting workshops on writing essays, paying for college, researching scholarships, etc. College Fair Guides were distributed to Juniors, but all students are invited to attend the fair--extra Guides can be found in the Guidance Office. Don't miss this great opportunity to plan your future!

 

Mr. Brendan Corsones, Admissions Representative from the University of Notre Dame, will be at Father Judge next Thursday, October 24th, at 8:00 am to provide information and answer questions about Notre Dame.  You MUST make an appointment in the Guidance Office by Wednesday October 23rd if you would like to meet with Mr. Corsones--if you have class first period, you MUST have permission from your first period teacher to attend!
