SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK: Today is a regular Schedule #1. Next Monday and Tuesday, 10/16 and 10/17, are Regular Schedule #1’s. Wednesday is a Schedule #3 for a Faculty Meeting. Students in the building are dismissed at 1:56pm. Thursday is the Universal Professional Development day for teachers and staff. There is no school for students on Thursday, 10/19. Friday is a regular Schedule #1.
DRESS DOWN DAY: Thank you to all who donated and dressed down yesterday Next Monday and Tuesday will be dress down days. Theme for BOTH days will be “Red October”. For $2, students may dress down as long as they are following the dress down day policies, wearing Phillies gear, or wearing the color red. STUDENTS DONATING BLOOD ON TUESDAY AND SIGNED UP BY MONDAY CAN DRESS DOWN FOR FREE ON TUESDAY.
FJ Fall Blood Drive: Father Judge is hosting their fall blood drive this Tuesday, October 17th, during the school day in the Fox Gym. Students and staff are encouraged to sign up during all lunch period with Student Council representatives or by emailing Mr. Loughlin directly. Those under 16 can not donate and 16 year old donors must have parental consent. Forms are available in the cafe and with Mr. Loughlin.
Psychology Club: The next Psychology Club meeting will be Tuesday, October 17th, after school in room 202. The meeting's theme is the psychology of the spooky season. New members are welcome.
Marine Biology Club: The next club meeting will be on Monday, October 23rd, after school in Room 313. Any questions, please see Ms. Kots.
CHRISTIAN SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
OLC Oktoberfest: Our Lady of Calvary is hosting an Oktoberfest event on tomorrow, October 14th 2023 from 12pm to 7pm. Students are needed before, during, and after the event. Any student interested should see Mrs. Teson in Room 105!
St. Francis Inn: Volunteers needed! Community Service Hours! Students are needed for volunteer trips to the St. Francis Inn this school year to help serve meals to the homeless community in Philadelphia. Any interested students and for more details are asked to see Fr. Vince Smith in his office!
Catholic Social Services: Students looking for after school or weekend hours are invited to reach out to C.S.S. Interested students are to call Becky at 215-624-5920. When you call, notify them that you are a Father Judge student.
National College Fair: The NCF is being held tomorrow, October 14th from 11:00 am-3:00 pm in the Convention Center at 1101 Arch Street. Over 300 colleges, trade schools, and military branches from around the country will be in attendance, and there will be workshops available on choosing a college, selecting a major, applying for financial aid, and more. Go to nacacattend.org/23Philadelphia for a list of colleges attending and to register; there is also information in the Guidance Office. You can ride free on Septa to the Fair by showing your high school ID! ALL students are encouraged to attend!
College Night: The Father Judge/St. Hubert Financial Night is being held on Wednesday October 18th from 6:30-8:30 pm in the St. Hubert Auditorium! Ms Bonnie Behm, the Financial Aid Director at Villanova, will be explaining the new changes in the financial aid process and with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (the FAFSA.) If you are planning to apply to colleges or trades schools, this is a great time to get information and ask questions, especially
Seniors. Any questions, please see Mrs. Purcell in the Guidance office.
Upcoming College Visits: The following colleges/ universities will be visiting Father Judge during all lunch periods in the coming weeks. Please meet with their admission representatives to learn more about these schools!

Chick-fil-A: The Whitman Square location is hosting open interviews on October 17th 2023. Both days will run from 4pm to 7pm. All students are invited to attend and questions can be directed to Mr. Loughlin.
