Esports - Competing Club
Esports Moderator
E-Sports is an ever-expanding domain of competitive video gaming. Students who participate in the club will play, as a team, competitively across the country against other High School E-Sports Teams. Each game has its own competitive leagues, and the game determines the number of students involved. These games are played on the computer and on the Nintendo Switch. Father Judge currently has League of Legends, Valorant, and Rocket League for the PC to add Rainbow Six Siege in the fall of 2023. We also currently have a Super Smash Brothers Deluxe and Mario Cart on the Nintendo switches. Even though the club revolves around competitive video gaming, there are many additional positions and parts played by students. They build, test, and fix all the computers, TVs, and gaming systems in the room. Students are also coaches and work with the team members on strategies and advanced gameplay. Even more so, students will be responsible for streaming the games out to the Father Judge Community and they will even have student shoutcasters, which are just like announcers at sports games. Finally, colleges are beginning to offer scholarships for all of these roles around E-Sports, some of which are Division I schools offering full rides to the best of the best. As the area continues to expand it will be exciting to see what else can come from this new and developing program.
