Assistant Principal for Student Affairs
Dear Parents, Guardians, & Students,
As a proud alumnus of the Class of 2018, I am honored to introduce myself as the newly appointed Assistant Principal for Student Affairs (APSA) at Father Judge High School. My time as a student at Judge was filled with involvement and service. I was active in Student Council, Yearbook, No Place for Hate, and several other clubs and activities. Even after graduation, I continued to support the Judge community as an alumnus, always willing to lend a hand and give back to the school that shaped me.
After graduating from Father Judge, I continued my education at St. Joseph’s University, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I went on to complete my Master’s Degree in Education and Principal Certification at Holy Family University, where I am currently pursuing Doctoral studies in Educational Leadership. These academic and professional experiences have strengthened my passion for Catholic education and prepared me for this dream role at Father Judge.
I began my teaching career at St. Dominic School, where I taught for four years, coordinated events, and worked closely with students and families to build a strong school community. In 2024, I was blessed to return to Judge as the Director of the Crusader Program, where I mentored students, molded the minds of our young Salesian Gentlemen, and guided those who needed extra support. During this time, I also served as the Yearbook Moderator and embraced every opportunity to contribute to the life of the school, from attending dances to cheering on our Crusaders at events.
Now, as APSA, I feel truly grateful and humbled. My mission is to make the life of the school and our Crusader spirit shine brightly, ensuring that every student feels supported in their journey. It is my goal to work with your sons, helping them succeed not only in the classroom but also in their personal growth, leadership, and school involvement.
The Office of Student Affairs oversees the life of our school from extracurricular activities and athletics to school-wide events, the FJ Parents’ Association, and community engagement. My role is to help connect students and families to these opportunities while supporting the traditions and values that make Father Judge such a special place. I believe strongly in an “open-door policy,” and I encourage students, parents, and families to reach out with questions, ideas, or concerns as we work together to continue the great legacy of our school.
In Salesian Spirit and Crusader Pride,
Mr. Paul J. Coates Jr. ’18, M.Ed.
