Cross Country State Champs Permission Form

Dear Students & Parents,

Congratulations! Your son has been selected to represent Father Judge High School at the PIAA Cross Country State Championship Meet on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Big Spring High School in Newville, PA. This trip will include an overnight stay on Friday, November 6th, in preparation for Saturday's championship race.

TRIP DETAILS:

Dates: Friday, November 6 – Saturday, November 7, 2026
Location: Big Spring High School – Newville, PA
Departure: Friday, November 6, following 2nd period (9:41 AM), with vans departing by approximately 10:15 AM
Transportation: School vans driven by Father Judge coaches
Hotel: Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Carlisle Southwest I-81
Race Time: Saturday, November 7, at 1:15 PM
Return: Saturday, November 7, approximately 6:00 PM at Father Judge

OVERNIGHT TRIP REMINDERS:

Students are reminded that they are representing Father Judge High School throughout the entire trip. All school policies and behavioral expectations remain in effect.

Packing: Bring appropriate running gear, sneakers, warm clothing, toiletries, personal items, and anything needed for the overnight stay. Coaches will provide a more detailed packing list.
Behavior: Students are expected to demonstrate respect, responsibility, and good sportsmanship at all times, including during transportation, at the hotel, and at the competition.
Hotel Expectations: Students must follow all coach instructions, remain in assigned rooms during designated hours, observe curfew, and respect hotel guests and property.
Supervision: Students must remain with the team and may not leave the hotel, competition site, or designated group without permission from a coach.
Personal Items: Students are responsible for their belongings and should bring any necessary medications, following school procedures.
Academics: Students are responsible for communicating with their teachers and completing all missed assignments and classwork.

A more detailed itinerary and packing list will be shared by Head Cross Country Coach Mr. Patrick Carolan prior to departure.

We are proud of our student-athletes for earning the opportunity to compete at the state championship level and look forward to having them represent Father Judge with pride, respect, and sportsmanship!

I give permission for my son to participate in the Father Judge High School-sponsored field trip described above. I understand that this is a school-sponsored activity taking place outside the regular school environment. I authorize my son to travel to and from the field trip using the transportation arrangements approved by Father Judge High School. I understand that my son must remain with the group and may not leave the activity or arrange alternate transportation without prior school approval. I understand that all Father Judge High School rules, policies, and behavioral expectations remain in effect during this field trip. My son is expected to follow directions from faculty and chaperones, demonstrate appropriate behavior, and represent Father Judge High School respectfully. In the event of an illness, injury, or medical emergency, I authorize school personnel to seek appropriate emergency medical assistance for my son. I understand that reasonable efforts will be made to contact me as soon as possible and that I am responsible for medical expenses not covered by insurance. I understand that participation in field trips may involve ordinary risks associated with transportation, travel, walking, and activities outside of the school building. I acknowledge these risks and voluntarily authorize my son to participate. I understand that Father Judge High School will provide reasonable supervision and take appropriate safety precautions.
