Crew will welcome new members for a two-week introduction to rowing at Malta Boat
House on Boathouse row. Students will be shown the basics of rowing and get some first-
hand experience in a racing shell. There is no previous experience necessary. Parents
should have read the Athletic Department cover letter re: PIAA physicals.
All interested students are expected to be able to swim. There is no cost associated with
this learn-to-row program. It should be noted that any student already involved in a Fall
sport should meet that commitment rather than taking two weeks to learn rowing. If your
son is involved, we’ll offer the program again. We will conduct the program from Monday
to Friday.
The program will begin on the weeks of September 20th and 27th. Your son is transported
by bus from outside the Mitchell Activity Center right after the school day ends and is
returned to the same location between 6-6:30. Your son should listen to the daily
announcements, which can also be read on the Father Judge Website.
Each student should have suitable clothing to wear for athletic activity.
