PRAYER REQUESTS:  We pray for all in need of God’s healing especially Bruce Sizer ’74 cousin of Mrs. Gana in the Student Services Office and Betty Kreschick, Gradmothr of John Cellini B-2.  We pray for all the faithful departed, especially the deceased members of the Father Judge family and all those who have died and are listed on the pages in the school oratory throughout the month of All Souls.

                                                  

SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK: Today (11/20) and Tomorrow (11/21) we are on a Regular Schedule #1.  Wednesday (11/22) we are on a Special Schedule to begin the Thanksgiving Holiday.  All students report to Homeroom at 7:55 AM.  Dismissal will be at approximately 9:15 AM.  Classes resume on Monday, November 27th with a Regular Schedule #1.

 

BENSALEM School District Students – Your school district does not give us any early dismissals. If you need a transpass to get home this Wednesday (11/22), please see Mr. Bertoline in Room 102.

 

THE MONTH OF ALL SOULS:  During the month of November the Church prays in a special way for the souls of all the faithful departed.  If you would like your deceased loved ones remembered in the prayers and masses in our School Oratory, please go to the Judge website and under the "Salesian Identity" banner drop down to "Prayer Requests."  From there you can print out a special form and send it in to the Main Office or Fr. Jack's office to be placed near the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. 

 

STUDENT LIFE:

CRUSADER CLUB FUNDRAISER: ONE FINAL DRAWING . IT IS THE BIG ONE. It will be Wednesday after school, November 22nd. You can continue to sell the chances for this drawing.  Returns (tickets and money) can be turned into the ladies in the cage (window at the end of the lunch line) on Mondays and Tuesday during all lunch periods.  All other times, please see Mrs. Bertoline in Room 102.   ALL STUDENTS MUST SELL THEIR QUOTO OF CHANCES OR THEY WILL BE CHARGED AN ACTIVITY FEE.

 

CALENDAR CHANGE - PLEASE NOTE:  PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES are BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DATE - WEDNESDAY, November 29th from 6 to 8 PM.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

 

FRESHMEN:  If you are interested in running for STUDENT GOVERNMENT, please stop by Mr. Campellone’s Office (Room 102) to pick up an application. Your signed form must be returned by Thursday, November 30th at Homeroom.  The Election will be on Tuesday, December 5th during Homeroom.

 

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE:  The annual collection of cans and food items is going on now.  All food items can be dropped off in the Main Office, the Ministry Office (room 107) or Fr. Jack's office (room 108).

 

FALL SHOW: Congratulations to the cast, director and the stage crew for a job well done!!

 

TRANSPASSES for next week (11/27) will be distributed tomorrow.

 

THE ANNUAL “CHRISTMAS BALL” will be held on Saturday, December 16th.   Permission forms are now available in the cafeteria during lunch periods and in the Activities Office. The cost of the dance is $35.00 per couple and is to be submitted to the Tuition Office along with the signed permission form. The DEADLINE is Monday, December 13th.  Come and enjoy the start of the holidays.

 

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES: Sarnelli  House next Tuesday, November 28th after school.  St. Francis Inn next Thursday, November 30th after school. Both are in Kensington. If interested, please see Fr. Jack.

 

THANKSGIVING COOK-IN TONIGHT - Come help make meals for the home-bound elderly and earn service hours. Students and parents (with clearances) are invited to the school cafeteria tonight (11/10) at 6:30 PM. Anyone can participate by dropping off food items: cooked turkey, ham, beef, pasta and potatoes are needed.  You can drop these items off in the main office throughout the day or bring them to the cafeteria on Monday night. The cafeteria will be open at 6:00 PM and the cook-in begins at 6:30.  See Fr. Jack (or E-Mail him – jkolodziej@fatherjudge.com) for more information or to let him know if you can bring food items.

 

THANKSGIVING MIRACLE MINUTE:  We will be collecting money tomorrow (11/21) for the St. Francis Inn in Kensington.  Money will be collected during homeroom within one minute.  The collection will be sent to the Franciscan Brothers & Sisters to buy food for their food kitchen that feeds the homeless and the struggling all year.   Any donation will help but if everyone even gave fifty cents we could raise almost $500 to help such a good cause during the holidays.  See Fr. Jack for more information.

 

ALL CATHOLIC BAND:  If you are interested in participating, please stop in the Academic Affairs Office (Dr. Lockwood) by November 30th for more information.

 

MEETINGS:

Varsity Mathletes will meet today (11/20) after school in Room 310.

 

Chess Club will meet after schoo briefly tomorrow (11/21) in room 205 and move to room 215 to play matches.  All new members are always welcome.

 

Model UN will meet tomorrow (11/21) after 8th period in room 205.  Countries for the conference at Salesianum HS on Saturday, December 9th, will be handed out.  All new members are always welcome.

 

ATHLETICS:

TURKEY BOWL:  Tickets for the annual Thanksgiving Football game against Lincoln are ON

SALE NOW in the Main Office or in the cafeteria. Tickets brought in advance are only $5.00 and proceeds go directly to help Judge Athletics.  On Thanksgiving, tickets at the gate are $10.00
