The Brisson Center for Academic Excellence

The newly renovated Father Brisson Center for Academic Excellence, situated on the 2nd floor of the Father Judge High School campus, provides an inviting and inclusive learning environment for all students. This student-centered space is equipped with interactive technologies that foster collaborative learning, resource sharing, project collaboration, and peer relationships.

The primary aim of the Brisson Center is to offer a supportive environment that enables each student to achieve their maximum potential academically. It hosts three major programs at Father Judge High School: Tutoring Services, The Crusader Program, and Career and Technical Education Support.

Brisson Center Rules and Regulations:

  • Students are to sign in and out of the Brisson Center using the Google Form each and every time they enter/leave the Center doors.
  • If students need to temporarily leave the center to visit the bathroom, nurse, etc., then they must ask the support professional that they are working with, and submit an ehallpass with the “from” location set as the Brisson Center.
  • Students may NOT bring food or drink into the Brisson Center. If a dry-erase wall is used, students must clean their work before leaving.

  • ALL FJHS rules apply within the Brisson Center

Components of the Brisson Center:

In addition to serving as a welcoming workspace, the Brisson Center for Academic Excellence offers essential programming in the following areas:

  • Tutoring Sessions: A core focus is providing academic support to all students through the National Honor Society tutoring program. Tutoring services are accessible throughout the school day, including during lunch periods, before and after school on selected days. To participate, students need to complete a simple online registration form, ensuring they receive the necessary tutoring assistance. The Peer Tutoring program has consistently demonstrated a positive impact on the academic improvement of our students.

  • The Crusader Program: Beyond academic interests, the Brisson Center extends support to students by providing access to valuable information concerning career and job opportunities. In collaboration with the Guidance Department, the center hosts workshops to help students explore after-school job options, summer employment, resume, and cover letter writing, as well as post-secondary interests such as college and trade schools. The focus here is to empower students with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet workforce expectations and requirements.

  • Career and Technical Education Support: The Brisson Center plays a vital role in assisting students with career and technical education guidance. Through personalized counseling and relevant resources, students receive valuable insights into potential career paths and vocational training opportunities.

Brisson Center Sign-In Form

Students are to fill out the above form each time they enter the Brisson Center. This includes using the space for independent work, tutoring, group/club meetings, meetings with a staff member, etc.

Completing the Google forms ensures that students are recognized for their efforts in improving their academics! Every student who uses the center will have their name placed in a raffle. At the end of each quarter, students who have productively spent the most time using the center will receive a recognition award along with a small prize.

Students are to complete the Tutoring Request Form (see below) if they would like to work with a tutor. Once requested, students will be contacted by email with further details regarding their upcoming tutoring appointment(s). Please see the Tutoring Page on our Website for more information.

Faculty/Staff are to complete the referral form (see below) if they are concerned about a student's academic performance in a specific class. Please provide specific details as to what you believe the student is struggling with. This will ensure that your student is accurately paired with a tutor and is provided the proper support for their needs. If you have any questions or would like to set up a meeting regarding your concerns, please contact [email protected].

The Brisson Center is open for usage by all members of Father Judge. To reserve a space in the center, complete the Google form below.
