FROM THE SCHOOL CAFETERIA SERVICE:
Dear Parents & Student;
As you may already know, ARAMARK is the contracted cafeteria provider for Father Judge High School. We would like to take this opportunity and explain ARAMARK‘s computerized debit system in place at the cafeterias. The following will outline and hopefully answer questions concerning the computerized system. The system will benefit you, your child, and the schools in many ways, and I hope that you and your student will consider taking advantage of some of the convenient options the system has to offer. Please read the following information carefully, and if you have any questions that remain unanswered, please feel free to call the school food service office.
COMPUTERIZED ACCOUNT SYSTEM
The system is a computerized debit system that will allow you to pay in advance for meal purchases. Students will still be able to pay cash on a daily basis; however they will need their pin number for every transaction. The system works with a twelve key PIN pad that is similar to an automated teller machine (ATM). It will allow your son to enter his 5 digit personal identification number (PIN) to access his account. Your child’s pin number is the last 5 digits of his student ID. Please have him memorize this number. The PIN keypad will be located on the serving line. The PIN number will stay the same throughout the remaining years your child is enrolled at the school.
All students will have an established debit account, although you will not be required to make advanced payments because the system still has the ability to act as a cash register and can accept cash payments on a daily basis. However, for your convenience, you may wish to choose one of the following options for making advanced payments. To prevent fraudulent use of student accounts, a digital image of your son will be downloaded into the system. This digital image will appear on the monitor for the cashier to view every time your child accesses his account, therefore insuring that no other student can use your child’s account.
Advanced Payment Options
OPTION 1: CASH ON ACCOUNT FOR CAFETERIA
A debit account is created by making a payment of a certain dollar amount by cash or check to the cafeteria. These funds are then deposited into your son's debit account and available to your child when purchasing lunch in the cafeteria. There are no limitations as to what may be purchased or how many purchases can be made. The account balance simply decreases as purchases take place.
OPTION 2: CREDIT CARD
A convenient credit card method will be available at a secure web site in the near future. You will be able to register online and deposit money through your credit card, as well as, check your child’s account balance and meal usage.
There is no limit on the amount of money that can be deposited into a debit account. Cashiers will have pre-printed forms available to be used when making advanced payments. Your child can bring the form home for you to complete or you can have the child complete the form in the cafeteria. Deposits made by 9:30 a.m. will be available immediately. Existing balances at the end of each school year will be carried over to the next school year.
ARAMARK is the contracted cafeteria provider for Father Judge High School. Questions regarding the Computer system can be directed to the ARAMARK supervisor. The school office staff will not be able to accept or refund monies to students; this can only be done through the ARAMARK supervisor on staff.
Below is a form that can be printed out and sent in with your first deposit. Make checks payable to: ARAMARK. For safety purposes, we recommend that advanced payments be sent in the form of a check. This form will be available through the cashiers for future deposits. If you are paying for more than one student in the same school with one payment, please clearly document how much money is to be designated to each student’s account. If you do not specify, the deposit amount will be divided equally between the student accounts. Thank you for your cooperation and your participation.
Sincerely,
Terri Hopwood
ARAMARK Cafeteria Manager, FJHS
